leadership in Emerging Church

OK down to the business.. I have been set an assignment this week about Leadership in Emerging Church.

The exact Question is 'The emerging church implies a denial of leadership' discuss?

If anyone has any wisdom to bear on this i would more than welcome your comments. In adition I wondered if anyone is aware of where the original quote comes from?

I have lots of stuff I am reading Leadership next, Kimball, Roxburgh, Dulles, Murray, Moynagh, McKnight, Driver..

Any web links especially that may suggest the EC is denying leadership would be great.. Thanks in advance for helping me out on this one..

The Emerging Conversation or Emerging Argument

I heard someone talking about the other day about Emerging church. The comment that stood out to me was if it doesen't offend it is not Emerging Enough.

As I have been engaging with the Emerging conversation one thing I have been aware of is the level of respect and understanding around the Conversation.

The terminology of today especially in Christian youth scene is often REVOLUTION every youth agency is trying to change the world. But is there a danger that our terminology can shape our process. Is there a chance that we are not going to learn from our past. As a post modern, post Christendom generation lets learn to challenge, inspire, reflect, invite.... rather than invade, conquer, instruct dare I say revolutionise.

Is there a danger that we are creating new expressions of church and mission in a new generation but carrying the same old baggage. Please lets not let the conversation turn into an argument.

Getting going

I have just started a course at Cliff College where i am studying for my Masters. I have just completed my first module on emerging church which was excellent and has blown my mind. I have to admit it is fascinating but blowing my mind a little which has to be a good thing. As a activist, pragmatic evangelist it does leave you thinking we are faced with an exciting yet maybe impossible task.
